Glen Ridge’s Tomi Kennedy helps Princeton University women’s soccer team to great NCAA run

GLEN RIDGE, NJ – Glen Ridge High School alumnus Tomi Kennedy helped lead the Princeton University women’s soccer team to a great run in the NCAA Division 1 National Tournament.

Princeton, ranked No. 13 in the nation, upset second-ranked North Carolina, 2-1, in overtime in the Sweet 16 on Nov. 19, but lost to fourth-ranked UCLA, 3-1, in the Elite Eight on Sunday, Nov. 26, to finish the season with a 16-3-1 record.

Kennedy, a sophomore, played 20 games with 12 starts this season. Though she had no goals, Kennedy collected four assists this season.

Kennedy, a 2016 GRHS graduate, scored 84 goals and added 36 assists in her four-year career at Glen Ridge. She led GRHS to four NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 state tournament championships, three NJSIAA Group 1 state finals, and one Group 1 state title.
