Glen Ridge HS baseball team seeks to bounce back from tough 0-3 start to season

GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The Glen Ridge High School varsity baseball team, coming off a season in which it won the North Jersey Section 2, Group 1 state title, lost in its first three games of the season.

The Ridgers lost to Cedar Grove, 10-4, in the season opener April 6 at Hurrell Field. Glen Ridge scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning for a 4-0 lead, but Cedar Grove scored three runs in the top of the second; one run in the fourth; five in the sixth inning and one run in the seventh.

Glen Ridge fell to West Essex, 16-4, April 7 at Hurrell. Max Haberman went 2-for-3 with a double, walk, and a run; Owen Hannigan was 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs; Brian Schnack was 1-for-1 with two walks, a run and an RBI; Marshall Hendrian was 1-for-3 with a walk, an an RBI; and Ian Buchanan was 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI.

Glen Ridge lost at Belleville, 14-8, to move to 0-3.
