GLEN RIDGE, NJ — The Glen Ridge High School boys and girls track and field teams competed Friday and Saturday, June 4 and 5, at the North Jersey Section 2, Group 1 Championships at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge. A majority of the competition was held on Saturday due to a thunderstorm with heavy rain on Friday. The boys team tied for eighth place with 17 points. The girls team scored 2 points.
Junior Amayah Melbourne; junior Max Renteria, who came sixth in the 100-meters; and senior Nick Ruggiero qualified for the State Group 1 meet on Friday, June 11, at Pennsauken High School in Camden County. The top six finishers in each event advanced to this meet.
