Barnes Reid selected to Newark Hall of Fame

IHS girls track & field coach enjoys long, distinguished career; induction to take place in October

IRVINGTON, NJ – Barnes Reid, the Irvington High School girls track and field head coach, will be inducted into the Newark Athletics Hall of Fame on Oct. 17.

In May, Reid was inducted into the IHS Athletics Hall of Fame.

Reid attended Barringer High School from 1966-69; Essex County College from 1969-71; and Seton Hall University from 1971-73 where he earned a bachelor of science degree in health and physical education.

His teaching experience includes:
