IHS boys’ soccer team downs West Side; girls’ soccer squad notches wins

IRVINGTON, NJ – Adamsky Jean-Phillippe had two goals to lead the Irvington High School boys’ varsity soccer team to a 4-1 win over West Side on Saturday, Oct. 1, in Newark.

Kervins Breville and Jaheem Hayes each had one goal for the Blue Knights, who improved to a 6-1-1 record.

In earlier action, Jean-Phillippe scored off an assist by Clervens Joseph to lead the Blue Knights to a 1-0 win over Cedar Grove on Sept. 27 at Irvington Park.

IHS lost to Glen Ridge, 3-1, Sept 29, in Bloomfield. The loss ended the Blue Knights’ five-game winning streak.

The IHS girls’ varsity soccer team posted back-to-back wins over Technology and East Orange Campus.

Kimberly Suffrant had two goals and Sherine Dawkins had one goal and one assist to lead the Irvington High School girls’ varsity soccer team to a 3-2 overtime win over Technology on Sept. 26 in Newark.

Islanda Jeancius and Nathaly Tamay each had one assist for the Blue Knights.

Jeancius and Diana Rivera each had a goal, both assisted by Fabienne Odige, in the 2-0 win over East Orange Campus on Sept. 28 in East Orange. Kedlene Luis made three saves for IHS.
