IRVINGTON – The Irvington High School varsity football team had a bit of roller coaster season, losing its first five games, then winning the next three before losing the final two to go 3-7.

But without a doubt, the Blue Knights featured several standouts.

The following IHS players have earned Worrall Media All-Area honors: junior quarterback Jyvon Brown, sophomore receiver/defensive back Jasiah Provillon, sophomore wide receiver/linebacker Alli Abbas, senior running back/linebacker Muadh Abdis-Salaam; senior twins Rahim and Malik Hazel-Jackson; junior tight end/linebacker Tyhmir Lassiter, senior two-way lineman Dejah Grier and junior receiver/defensive back Karon Gray. Rahim Hazel-Jackson is a wide receiver/defensive back and Malik Hazel-Jackson is a running back/linebacker.

Brown and Provillon were the team’s Offensive Players of the Year. Brown has started at quarterback since his freshman year. Abbas and Abdis-Salaam were the team’s Defensive Players of the Year.

IHS head coach Pete Pascarella praised his team for their strong efforts this season.
