IRVINGTON – The Irvington High School boys’ varsity basketball team, under head coach Elias Brantley, concluded its season with a tough 51-50 home loss to Union on Feb. 26 in the finale.
Senior guard Othniel Nyameke scored 18 points; senior guard Ijah Jones had nine points; senior forward Jakylin Shuford had eight; senior guard Talik Lee had six; senior guard Ahmere Nelson had five; and senior guard Dashaun Daniels and freshman guard Nasir Johnson each had two points for the Blue Knights, who finished the season with an 8-16 record.
In earlier action, the Blue Knights defeated Hackettstown, 47-38, Feb. 22, at home.
IHS lost at Newark East Side, 84-58, Feb. 25.
