Irvington HS boys basketball team improves to 8-0 record

IRVINGTON, NJ —

The Irvington High School boys basketball team defeated Bloomfield and Passaic Valley to improve to 8-0 on the season.

Senior guard Dezyln Sebastien had 19 points and five rebounds and senior forward Moses Pierre had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead the Blue Knights to a 57-49 home win over Bloomfield on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Senior guard Karriem Thomas had 12 points, senior guard Nazameir Brooks had eight and senior guard Kymani Dunbar added two points with six rebounds and six assists.

Pierre scored 26 points and pulled down nine rebounds in the 63-51 win at Passaic Valley in Little Falls on Friday, Jan. 10.  Brooks had 10 points, Thomas had nine points and six rebounds, Dunbar scored eight points and Sebastien added seven points.

The Blue Knights will participate in the Dan Finn Classic held at the Jersey City Armory on Saturday, Jan. 18, against Lincoln of Jersey City at 2:15 p.m.
