Irvington HS boys’ basketball team improves to 9-0 on season

IRVINGTON, NJ – The Irvington High School boys’ varsity basketball team defeated Bloomfield and Shabazz to remain unbeaten on the season at 9-0.

Kymani Dunbar had 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists and Karriem Thomas had 15 points and three steals to lead the Blue Knights to a 60-55 home win over Bloomfield on Jan. 3. Moses Pierre had 14 points and seven rebounds; and Nazamier Brooks and Dezlyn Sebastian each had four points.

Thomas had 17 points and five assists in the 82-54 win over Shabazz on Jan. 4 at Shabazz in Newark. Pierre scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds; Dunbar had 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals; Vital had 10 points, four steals and three assists; Brooks had nine points, four rebounds and four steals; JhaZaire Head had six points; Shawn Besselieu had five points; Kyle Benson had three rebounds; and Sebastian added three points and three blocks.
