Irvington HS boys’ basketball team tops Newark Tech for second win in a row

IRVINGTON, NJ – Nasamier Brooks scored 16 points and fellow sophomore Karriem Thomas had 12 points to lead the Irvington High School boys’ varsity basketball team to a 66-59 win over host Newark Tech on Jan. 5.

Dezlyn Sebastian, a sophomore, had nine points; Jiar Bucknor had seven points and Andrew Sylvestre had seven points and six rebounds for the Blue Knights, who won their second straight game to improve to a 4-3 record.

Kevin Kilpatrick also had five points and eight rebounds and Dameer Vital had five points and four rebounds.
In the previous game, IHS defeated Livingston, 52-47, Jan. 3 on the road.
