Irvington HS boys’ soccer team enjoys banner season

IRVINGTON, NJ – The Irvington High School boys’ varsity soccer team, under head coach Abdelkader Laib, enjoyed a banner season.

The top-seeded Blue Knights fell to ninth-seeded Cliffside Park, 5-3, in the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 2, Group 3 state tournament on Nov. 1 at IHS.

Costadinov Joseph had two goals; Stoichkov Joseph had a goal and Basit Aroworowon and Jean Kemser Desinor each had an assist for the Blue Knights, who finished with an 11-4-2 overall, including winning the Super Essex Conference-Colonial Division with a 7-1 divisional mark.
