IRVINGTON, NJ – The Irvington High School boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams seek to have successful seasons.

The teams, under head coach Marvin Hawkins, will begin their seasons Sept. 7 at Branch Brook Park.

The boys’ team will look to rebound from last year’s 2-7 season. They will be led by senior Michael Veltz and juniors Desmond Marfo, Wolf Michel, Claudel Saint Clair, Brisner Xavier, and Philip Polk.

The Blue Knights also have talented newcomers. Sophomore Peterson Francois, junior Wilfrantz Therzy, senior Keano Fearon, and freshman Devin Seward should provide a spark to a solid veteran team that looks to establish itself as one of the top teams in the Super Essex Conference and county, said Hawkins.

The girls’ team will be led by senior captains Khdeejah Hughes and Victory Molokwu. The Lady Blue Knights also will get a huge boost from talented sophomores Cathiana Jean, Taliyah Hayes, Adijat Oyleke, Erica Richards, Neissa Vilius, and senior newcomer Maxine Hayes. They will look to improve on last year’s 1-6 record.
