IRVINGTON, NJ – Looking to continue their great run of success under head coach “Smoke” Pierre, the Irvington High School varsity football team has been getting ready for the 2018 season.
The Blue Knights hosted a preseason scrimmage on Wednesday, August 15, against both Woodrow Wilson of Camden and Paramus Catholic.
Pierre said the team looked dominant against Paramus Catholic, one of the most respected non-public teams in North Jersey.
The Blue Knights will host their game scrimmage against St. Peter’s Prep, another perennial non-public contender, on August 23 at 5 p.m.
The season opener is Friday, August 31, against Orange at home at 7 p.m.
The Blue Knights have posted back-to-back eight-win seasons under Pierre, including reaching the North Jersey Section 2, Group 4 semifinals last season.
