IRVINGTON, NJ — The Irvington High School football team defeated Wayne Hills, 21-16, Oct. 2, at home for its fourth straight win to improve to 4-1 on the season.
Kyshir Desir scored two touchdowns to lead the Blue Knights in this Super Football Conference crossover game.
In the first quarter, Desir scored on a 60-yard run and Anthony Ellis kicked the extra point for a 7-0 lead.
Wayne Hills cut it to 7-3 in the second quarter on a 32-yard field goal by Jeremy Kobrin.
Desir answered with an 80-yard TD run and Ellis kicked the extra point to give the Blue Knights a 14-7 lead.
Wayne Hills’ Ben Contella scored on a 1-yard run to cut it to 14-10 at halftime.
In the third quarter, IHS quarterback Saquan Gordon hit Famah Toure on a 45-yard TD pass and Ellis added the extra point to increase the Blue Knights’ lead to 21-10.
In the fourth quarter, Wayne Hills cut it to 21-16 on a 7-yard TD pass from Joe Riina to Matt Geraghty. The 2-point conversion run failed.
The Blue Knights will visit DePaul on Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. in Wayne in an SFC crossover game. DePaul is 4-1 on the season.
