IRVINGTON, NJ – The Irvington High School girls’ varsity basketball team won two straight games, beating Weequahic and Science Park, to improve to a 4-5 record.
Tiara Mahorn, a junior, had 24 points, eight rebounds and five steals to lead the Blue Knights to a 37-36 home win over Weequahic on Jan. 11.
Aniya Massey, a sophomore, had seven points and six rebounds and Jenneha Lowe had three points and five rebounds. Celine Ceasar, a sophomore, also had three steals.
Mahorn had 17 points, eight rebounds, seven steals and four assists to pace the Blue Knights to a 44-35 win over host Science Park in Newark on Jan. 13. Massey had 11 points and six rebounds; Cesaer had nine points, four assists and three steals.
