Irvington HS indoor track and field teams earn 24 medals at FDU Invitational to start season

IRVINGTON, NJ – The Irvington High School indoor track and field teams brought home a whopping 24 medals from the Fairleigh Dickinson University Invitational in the season opener on Dec. 16.

Girls’ medal winners

55-meter hurdles: First place, Andrea Jackson. Second place, Vicky Molokwu.

4×800-meter relay: First place, Taliyah Hayes, Berline Julien, Malika Springer, Cathiana Jean, 11:06.

4×400-meter relay: Second place, Jackson, Molokwu, Springer, Hayes, 4:31.

400-meter Novice: Fifth place, Ariana Ruiz.

Boys medal winners

55-meter hurdles: Second place, Dwight Henry.

4×200-meter relay: Third place, Michael Veltz, Trenton Dundas, Devin Seward, Henry, 1:40.

4×800-meter relay: Sixth place, Desmond Marfo, Claudel Saint Clair, Adnon Kpodo, Cordell Litus, 9:40.

4×400-meter relay: Second place, Veltz, Marfo, Seward, Henry, 3:45.

The Blue Knights will gear up for the Super Essex Conference Championships on Saturday, Dec. 23, at Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
