IRVINGTON, NJ – The Irvington Golden Knights Pop Warner football teams had their first games this weekend.
The Tiny Mites (ages 5-7) won their game against New Brunswick, 35-0, Saturday, Sept. 2.
The Mitey Mites (ages 7-9) won their game against the Central Ward Blue Devils, 35-0, Sunday, Sept. 3.
The Jr. Pee Wees (10-11) lost a close 12-7 contest to Central Ward Blue Devils on Sunday.
Flag (5-7) and Tiny Mites will play this Saturday, Sept. 9, at Nat Turner field in Newark at 9 a.m. and noon, respectively.
Mighty Mites, Pee Wee (11-12), Jr Varsity (12-13) and Jr. Pee Wee all play Sunday, Sept. 10, at Irvington High School against South East of Newark at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., noon and 1:30 p.m. respectively.
