CHS boys' team finishes respetable 13th out of 20 teams at Group 4 race

HOLMDEL, NJ – Columbia High School’s Jared Pangallozzi is headed to the New Jersey Cross-Country Meet of Champions following his fourth place finish in the Group 4 State Championship on Saturday, Nov. 12. Pangallozzi, the team captain, finished the 5K (3.1 mile) course at Holmdel Park in 16:07 in Holmdel.

The Group 4 race of 146 runners featured most of the top teams in New Jersey. Columbia, following championships in the recent conference and county meets, finished with a respectable 13th place out of 20 teams. Rounding out the scoring for Columbia behind senior Pangallozzi were four juniors: Jonathan Salinardo, Tim Depue, Avery Coreschi, and David Ives.

The New Jersey Meet of Champions race will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov/ 19 at Holmdel Park/

On Saturday, Nov. 26, the CHS boys’ cross-country team will be looking to close out its season in strong fashion when the Cougars travel to Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls, N.Y. for the Nike Cross Nationals Northeast Region meet.
