Nutley East 11-12 Little League team finishes as Section 2 tournament runner-up

NUTLEY – The Nutley East Little League 11-12-year-old All-Star team’s memorable journey this summer came to an end.

Nutley East finished as the Section 2 tournament runner-up, losing to Rutherford, 13-8, Friday, July 22, at Livingston Little League field.

The previous night, Nutley East lost to Rutherford, 2-0, at Livingston Little League field. It was Nutley East’s first loss in the double-elimination tournament. That set up a winner-take-all game for the Section 2 tournament championship. Rutherford again prevailed to advance to the State Finals in Gloucester City, beginning July 28.

Nutley East won the District 8 tournament title to advance to the Section 2 tournament.
