Coming off a big win over a highly-regarded Irvington team for its first victory of the season, the Nutley High School varsity football team defeated Paramus, 27-22, Friday night, Oct. 6, in Paramus to improve to a 2-3 record.
The Raiders were led by senior Nick Mainiero, who rushed for a whopping 235 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries.
Junior quarterback Josh O’Neill completed 10 of 17 passe for 150 yards and a touchdown to Eli Acosta., who finished with five catches for 79 yards. Wayne Whittmann also caught the other five passes for 71 yards for the Raiders, who will host Orange on Oct. 14 at the Park Oval.
