Nutley HS boys’ basketball team falls to Verona in ECT

NUTLEY, NJ – Matt Schettino had 15 points and Marty Higgins had 12 points but the 23rd-seeded Nutley High School boys’ varsity basketball team lost at 11th-seeded Verona, 57-46, in the first round of the Essex County Tournament on Friday, Feb. 10.

Verona led 28-26 at halftime and outscored Nutley, 15-7, in the third quarter to extend it to 43-33.

Anthony Fabiano had eight points; Elijah Acosta had seven points and Evan Cirminiello had two points for NHS.
