NUTLEY, NJ — While its head coach is courageously battling cancer, the Nutley High School football team notched an inspiring 27-7 win over Lincoln of Jersey City on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, Oct. 19, at the Park Oval on NHS Homecoming.

NHS head coach Steve DiGregorio was honored prior to the game. DiGregorio, a 1979 NHS graduate and captain of the Raider football team in his senior year, was diagnosed with cancer this summer.

Senior quarterback Justin Lucia connected on three touchdown passes to junior Gennaro Longobardi for 55, 44 and 15 yards. Lucia also threw a 42-yard TD pass to junior Johnny Coppola.

The Raiders improved to 3-4 on the season and will host Snyder on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m.
