NUTLEY, NJ — The Nutley High School football team defeated Snyder of Jersey City, 36-8, Saturday afternoon, Oct. 26, at the Park Oval for its second straight win to improve to 4-4 on the season.
Senior quarterback Justin Lucia completed eight of 10 passes for 211 yards to lead the Raiders.
Senior running back Dante Contella had nine carries for 70 yards and a touchdown; and junior running back Johnny Coppola had six carries for 21 yards and a TD. Senior Christopher Kruse scored two touchdowns.
In the first quarter, Contella scored with 9:11 left. The point-after attempt failed.
Coppola scored with 7:43 remaining. Lucia kicked the point-after.
Kruse capped the scoring in the first quarter with a TD with 4:04 left. The PAT failed.
Kruse scored a touchdown just 39 seconds into the second quarter. Lucia kicked the extra point.
Lucia booted a 24-yard field goal with 3:17 remaining in the half.
Lucia had a TD and added the extra point with 7:10 remaining left the third quarter.
