Nutley HS girls’ basketball team regroups with two straight victories

NUTLEY, NJ – After an 0-5 start to the season, the Nutley High School girls’ varsity basketball team won two straight games to move to 2-5.

Senior Courtney Wilde and fellow senior Rebecca Granata each scored 11 points to lead the Raiders to a 40-30 win in a consolation game in the Westwood Holiday tournament on Dec. 30. Abigail Sheidel had nine points on three 3-pointers; Junior Jaden Long had five points; and seniors Alaina Feaster and Mackenzie Moraski each had two points.

Wilde scored 16 points to lead Nutley to a 47-40 home win over Columbia on Jan. 3. Scheidel had 11 points; Granata and junior Sofia Lamond each had six points; and Moraski had four points as Nutley outscored Columbia, 17-10, in the fourth quarter.
