NUTLEY, NJ – Senior forward Zoe Steck scored two goals and junior midfielder Isabella Gonsiewiski had one goal to lead the second-seeded Nutley High School girls’ varsity soccer team to a 3-1 win over No. 7 seed Montclair Kimberley Academy in the quarterfinals of the Essex County Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Father Glotzbach Field.
Senior stopper Darby Fischer and sophomore midfielder Emily DeAngelo each had an assist and junior goalie Jillian DeSantis made six saves for the Lady Raiders, which improved to a 12-2-1 record.
The Raiders will play in the ECT semifinals doubleheader at Belleville HS on Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. against the winner of third-seeded Montclair and sixth-seeded Caldwell. Top-seeded Livingston will face No. 12 seed Mount St. Dominic Academy in the other semifinal.
