NUTLEY, NJ – The Nutley High School girls’ varsity soccer team finished a stellar season.
The fifth-seeded Raiders lost at fourth-seeded Roxbury in the quarterfinals of the state North Jersey Section 1, Group 3 tournament on Nov. 4.
The Raiders, under head coach Mike DiPiano, finished with a 15-4-1 record.
Two of the four losses were to Montclair, both in overtime, including a 1-0 overtime decision in the Essex County Tournament semifinals. The other loss was to Livingston, 1-0, and the tie came against Cranford, 1-1.
Leading the Raiders this season was senior Zoe Steck. The University of Connecticut commit scored 41 goals this season, which is ranked No. 1 in the state this year so far. She finished her career with a school-record 107 goals.
