CORRECTED: Nutley HS girls’ volleyball team advances to ECT semifinals

NUTLEY, NJ – The fourth-seeded Nutley High School girls’ varsity volleyball team defeated fifth-seeded Montclair Kimberley Academy, 25-23, 25-14, in the quarterfinals of the Essex County Tournament on Oct. 25 at NHS.

The Lady Raiders, who improved to a 14-3 record, will face top-seeded Verona in the ECT semifinals doublehader on Thursday, Oct. 27, at West Essex in North Caldwell beginning at 5 p.m.  The other semifinal pits second-seeded Livingston against third-seeded Caldwell.

The Raiders received the No. 12 seed in the state Group 3 tournament and will host No. 21 seed Millburn in the first round on or by Nov. 2. The winner will face the winner of No. 28 Toms River South and No. 5 Jackson Liberty in the second round on or by Nov. 4.
