NUTLEY – The Nutley High School varsity wrestling team, under first-year head coach Mike DiPiano, opened the season at the The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Pride Classic at Brick Memorial on Saturday, Dec. 19.
Only teams that had a coach who wrestled for Coach Dave Icenhower at Trenton State College/The College of New Jersey were in the tournament.
The following NHS wrestlers placed in the tournament:
Champions: Rob Duxbury (138-pound weight class) and Darwin Pena (152).
Second place: John Zarro (160).
Third place: Frank DeMaio (132).
Fourth place: Justin Bivona (182) and Gerard D’Alessio (195).
Fifth place: Joey D’Alessio (182).
Sixth place: Domonick Cofone (106), Louis Long (170) and Luis Abreu (285 heavyweight).
