ORANGE, NJ – The Orange High School varsity baseball team, under head coach Wally Boyett, has enjoyed a good start to the season.
The Tornadoes won their season opener, beating Technology, 12-2, April 5, in Newark. David Johnson-Johnson went 2-for-3 with a double, a run, and four RBI; Anthony Ozoria went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI and Ryan Delgado, Devon McKay and Avirson Velez each had one RBI.
OHS lost to Weequahic, 12-10, April 6, at Monte Irvin Field at Central Avenue Playground. McKay went 1-for-3 with two RBI; Adam Tizio went 3-for-3 with a walk and one RBI; and Ozoria and Johnson-Guzman each had one RBI.
The Tornadoes defeated Irvington, 6-5, Monday, April 9, at Monte Irvin Field to improve to a 2-1 record.
Orange will host Barringer on Friday, April 13, and host Belleville on Tuesday, April 17.
