Orange HS baseball team takes third place at Trenton Central HS Tournament

ORANGE – Chrystian Wallker’s three-run home run in the seventh inning provided the final margin of victory as the Orange High School varsity baseball team defeated Trenton, 4-1, in the third place game of the Trenton Central HS Tournament on April 23.

Adam Tizio doubled and scored and Moses Garica had an RBI. Shamil Roberts and Joshua Fields combined to allow one run on two hits, with five strikeouts and walks.

Fields singled and scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk to Tizio in the botttom of the seventh to give OHS a 5-4 home win over Science Park on April 25. Tizio also had an RBI single in the fifth and Roberts singled and scored. Fields was the winning pitcher. OHS improved to an 8-5 record.

In earlier action, Welington Jimenez had a two-RBI double and Walker scored twice as Orange lost to St. Benedict’s Prep, 6-4, at Monte Irvin Field at Central Avenue Playground on April 20. Jean Carlos Tejada and Antonio Jimenez also scored for the Tornadoes.

Jason Juarez went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the 8-4 home loss to Shabazz on April 21. Fields and Kelly Collin each had one-RBI and Roberts and Tizio each scored a run.
