UPDATE: Orange HS boys’ basketball team defeats Livingston

ORANGE – Andre Pete scored 25 points and fellow junior Rasheed Boyd had 15 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Orange High School boys’ varsity basketball team to a 65-55 win over Livingston on Saturday, Jan. 30.

The Tornadoes improved to a 6-11 record.  

In earlier action, Pete scored 15 points and senior guard Papouch Demesthenes had 11 points in a 62-54 loss at Newark Tech on Jan. 28. The Tornadoes led 29-25 at halftime, but Newark Tech rallied for a 24-3 third quarter. Junior Tyler Killett had 10 points for OHS. The 18th-seeded Tornadoes will host No. 27 seed Shabazz in the second preliminary round of the 70th Essex County Tournament on or by Feb. 6.
