Orange HS boys basketball team wins seven straight games

ORANGE, NJ — A’Juwan Tiggs scored a game-high 20 points and fellow senior forward Jamesly Philippe had 13 points to lead the Orange High School boys basketball team to a 60-32 home win over Glen Ridge on Monday, Feb. 12, in a Super Essex Conference crossover divisional game.

The Tornadoes extended their winning streak to seven games and improved to 15-9 on the season.

Junior Brandon Tejada had 9 points, junior guards Gregory Burton and Ky’Sir Green each had 8 points and senior guard Alijah Jamison added 2 points for the Tornadoes.

Orange, seeded 11th, was scheduled to visit No. 6 seed Mendham in the first round of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association’s North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 state tournament on Thursday, Feb. 22, The winner will face either No. 3 seed Colonia or No. 14 seed Fort Lee in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
