Orange HS boys’ soccer team defeats Belleville to advance to section quarterfinals

ORANGE, NJ – Clifford Bonheur, Reny Lafortune, and Juvens Merceda each had a goal to lead the third-seeded Orange High School boys’ varsity soccer team to a 3-2 home win over 14th-seeded Belleville in the first round of the state North Jersey Section 2, Group 3 tournament on Oct. 31.

Kevin Martinez and Michael Sanchez each had an assist for the Tornadoes, who improved to a 12-5 record and will host No. 6 seed Middletown North in the quarterfinals on Nov. 3. The winner will face the winner between second-seeded Mendham and seventh-seeded Summit in the semifinals on Nov. 7.
