ORANGE – The Orange High School varsity football team had an inspiring run this season.

After upsetting second-seeded Ridgefield Park in the first round to avenge last year’s opening-round playoff loss to the same opponent, the seventh-seeded Tornadoes were just one win away from reaching the state North Jersey Section 2, Group 3 playoff championship game. But the Tornadoes lost a heartbreaking 21-14 decision to third-seeded Morris Hills in the semifinals on Nov. 19 in Rockaway to finish with a 6-5 record.

The Tornadoes were sparked by several strong contributors throughout the season. The following Tornadoes earned All-North Jersey Super Football Conference-Patriot White Division honors:

First Team Offense

Tyrese Harris, senior running back

Dequan Battles, senior wide receiver

Second Team Offense

George Crespo, sophomore quarterback
