ORANGE – Orange High School rising sophomore Nyquee Hawkins has been offered a football scholarship from the University of Connecticut.
Hawkins, a 6-foot, 150-pound cornerback, also participated in the Louisiana State University camp earlier this month in which he met LSU head coach Les Miles.
Hawkins was selected to play for the United States Under-16 National Team in the seventh annual International Bowl this past February at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
Jamar Summers, an OHS alum, also is a standout cornerback for UConn.
