Orange HS football team downs Belleville behind Trevion Thomas, Jamear Reed

ORANGE, NJ – Senior Trevion Thomas rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries and senior quarterback Jamear Reed added 101 rushing yards and a score on 13 attempts to lead the Orange High School varsity football team to a 34-20 win over Belleville on Friday, Oct. 20 at Bell Stadium.

Thomas scored on a 2-yard run in the first quarter and a 6-yard run in the second quarter.

Senior Keyshawn McCurdy returned the second-half kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown for the Tornadoes, who improved to 5-3 overall record.

Sophomore Louce Joulien recovered a fumble in the end zone and Reed had a 43-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Defensively for the Tornadoes, senior linebacker Curtis Lynch had 11 tackles; senior defensive end Nigil Thomas had eight tackles; defensive end Joulien had five tackles, four sacks and the fumble recovery in the end zone; junior defensive tackle Al’kyjuan Green had five tackles and a sack; and defensive back McCurdy also had an interception.

Orange will visit Memorial of West New York on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m.
