ORANGE, NJ — The Orange High School football team continues to surge.
The Tornadoes won their fourth straight game with a hard-fought 13-7 overtime victory over Bloomfield on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 5, at Bell Stadium.
Junior running back Montez Boswell scored on a 15-yard run and junior defensive back Brantly Constant returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown to lead the Tornadoes, who have bounced back from a season-opening loss to Irvington and improved to 4-1.
Bloomfield moved to 0-5.
It marks the second straight year that Orange beat Bloomfield in overtime. Orange won last year’s meeting, 19-18.
Boswell finished with 137 rushing yards on 18 carries and senior defensive back Nyzeek Mann had 116 yards on 11 carries. Senior quarterback Zythion Latham ran for 57 yards on seven attempts and completed one of four passes for 13 yards.
Junior defensive end Louce Joulien had seven tackles with a forced fumble and fumble recovery; Boswell had six tackles as a inside linebacker; senior defensive back Ashly Hertilien had two tackles and an interception; Mann also had a fumble recovery and an interception and junior inside linebacker Michael Emilie had five tackles.
The Tornadoes will visit Barringer on Friday, Oct. 11, at Schools Stadium in Newark. Barringer (3-1) has won three straight.
