ORANGE, NJ – Senior quarterback George Crespo passed for 56 yards and a touchdown and also rushed for 54 yards on six carries and a score as the Orange High School varsity football team won its straight game with a dominating 41-0 victory over Ferris on Saturday Sept. 15 in a Super Football Conference-Freedom White Division in Jersey City. The Tornadoes improved to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the division on the season. Ferris fell to 0-3.
Senior Nyquee Hawkins scored on an 8-yard run in the first quarter. Crespo hit senior Keyshawn McCurdy for a 46-yard TD pass in the second quarter. In the third quarter, Crespo ran for a 39-yard TD and sophomore Louce Julien recovered a fumble in the end zone.
In the fourth quarter, running back Montrez Bosell scored on a 16-yard run and fellow sophomore Geraldino Raymond ran for a 20-yard score.
Senior end Nigel Thomas had 12 tackles and two sacks to lead the OHS defense. Crespo, as a linebacker, also had eight tackles, and Boswell, as an inside linebacker, had four tackles and one interception.
Julien kicked five extra points.
The Tornadoes will host Weequahic (3-0) on Friday, Sept. 21 at Bell Stadium in a SFC crossover game.
Weequahic received a forfeit win from Glen Ridge on Sept. 14. Glen Ridge did not have enough players to field a competitive team due to injuries.
