Orange HS girls’ basketball team splits two in Millburn Holiday Tournament

ORANGE – The Orange High School girls’ varsity basketball team defeated North Plainfield before losing to Millburn in the Millburn Holiday Tournament.

Imani May had 18 points and Lorenzia Hammer had 16 points in the 42-22 win over North Plainfield on Dec. 28. Shatiana Fryer had six points for OHS.

Imani Paul had 12 points and May scored 11 in the 44-37 loss to Millburn on Dec. 30. Hammer had nine points; Fryer had four and Kenia Luna had one point.

In earlier action, Hammer had 20 points, 17 rebounds and eight blocks in the 47-40 win over Golda Och Academy on Dec. 21. May had 11 points and Paul had two points and 11 rebounds; Jada Hamilton contributed six points and 10 rebounds and Fryer had six points for the Lady Tornadoes. Yvie Saint Pierre also had eight rebounds for OHS.

The Tornadoes lost to Chatham, 58-39, Dec. 23. May had 17 points and Paul had 12.
