Orange HS girls’ basketball team tops Caldwell; gears up for state tournament

ORANGE – Imani May had 20 points, seven rebounds, six steals and four assists to lead the Orange High School girls’ varsity basketball team to a 43-35 win at Caldwell on Feb. 18. Jonai Hill had eight points and three assists; Lorenzah Hammer and Imani Paul each had seven points and seven rebounds; and Jada Hamilton grabbed eight rebounds for the Lady Tornadoes.

May had 14 points in the 27-24 loss at West Orange on Feb. 22. OHS moved to a 13-9 record.

In previous action, OHS lost at Irvington, 34-26, Feb. 17. May had 12 points; Hill had six points; and Anessa Larathe and Kenia Luna each had four points.

The Lady Tornadoes, seeded eighth, will host ninth-seeded Warren Hills in the first round of the state North Jersey Section 2, Group 3 tournament on Feb. 29.
