Orange HS girls’ basketball team victorious

ORANGE – Imani May had 18 points; Lorenzia Hammer had 10 points and 12 rebounds and Imani Paul had five points, eight rebounds and four steals to lead the Orange High School girls’ varsity basketball team to a 35-22 win at Verona on Jan. 12. OHS used a 21-3 second quarter to take a 33-7 lead.

The Lady Tornadoes lost to Queen of Peace, 52-43, Jan. 15, at home. May had 17 points, four rebounds and four steals; Hammer had 10 points and five rebounds; Paul recorded nine points and grabbed seven boards; Jada Hamilton posted six points and nine rebounds; and Shatiana Fryer had four assists.

OHS defeated Newark Collegiate Academy, 42-27, during the seventh annual OHS Martin Luther King Jr. Classic on Monday, Jan. 18. The Tornadoes improved to a 7-4 record.
