Orange HS track teams excel at Bulldog Relays

ORANGE – The Orange High School boys’ and girls’ track and field teams competed at the Bulldog Relays at Shabazz Stadium in Newark on Saturday, April 23.

The girls’ team finished second overall in the girls’ team standings behind Benedictine Academy. The boys’ team finished sixth overall in the boys’ team standings.

The girls won three events: the 800-meter sprint medley relay (2:27.39), the 4×400-meter relay (4:08.38) and the 4×800-meter relay (12:09.55). In the shot put event, Shahyan Abraham took second with at throw of 29 feet, 6 1/2 inches and Tatayanna Beckford was sixth at 28 feet 1 1/4 inches for OHS.

For the boys, the 4×800 took third in 9:06.74.
