MAPLEWOOD/SOUTH ORANGE – Quinn Krais went 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI and two stolen bases and Eliot Dix went 1-for-2 with two RBI and two walks to lead the Columbia High School varsity baseball team to a 15-1 win at North 13th Street Tech in Newark on April 8.
Daniel Cotler went 1-for-2 with a RBI, two runs and a walk; Ryan Davis went 1-for-2 with two runs and a walk; Luke Jackson had two RBI, two runs and a walk; Christian Pierre had two runs; and Ben Rostan went 1-for-1 with two RBI.
Michael Roseman pitched a five-inning complete game, allowing eight hits and one walk and striking out five. CHS moved to a 2-1 record.
In previous action, the Cougars lost at Livingston, 3-1, April 6. Jackson was 1-for-3 with a double and Danny Boehmer allowed three runs, two earned, on seven hits and two walks, striking out three, for the Cougars.
