Columbia HS boys’ basketball team falls

MAPLEWOOD – Stephan Gabriel had 17 points and Henry Voorhees had six points for the Columbia High School boys’ varsity basketball team in a 63-36 loss to St. Joseph of Metuchen in the first round of the Jingle Bell Jubilee at Paterson Charter on Dec. 26.

Davidson Rancine had 18 points and Matthew Derilus had 11 points in the 54-45 loss to Hackensack on Dec. 27 in the consolation on Dec. 27.

Rancine had 11 points, John Reed had 10 points and Coobee Darcelin had nine points in  a 62-57 loss to Dickinson on Jan. 3. Kevin Bostic had seven points and Russell Ayala had six for CHS.

In earlier action, Gabriel had nine points and five rebounds; Henry Voorhees had eight points and five rebounds and Briezh Askew had eight points in the 57-40 home win over Irvington on Dec. 22.
