Columbia HS boys cross-country team wins Super Essex Conference–American Division championships

NEWARK, NJ — The Columbia High School boys cross-country team took first place at the Super Essex Conference–American Division championships on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Branch Brook Park in Newark.

Asa Glassman, a junior, took third place in 17 minutes, 16.41 seconds to lead the Cougars. Junior Earl Hart III took seventh place in 17:35.37 and junior Samuel Medd took 10th place in 17:41.30 for Columbia. Other runners for CHS were freshman Abraham Hoffmann, sophomore Christian Caravetta, and juniors Dylan Little and William Eammons. 

On the girls side, senior Mae Dowling took second place in 19:25.72 to lead Columbia, which finished in third place. Senior Sally O’Sullivan took 10th place in 21:42.79 and sophomore Kendall Waite took 14th place in 21:57.60 for Columbia. Sophomores Audrey Marvell, Caroline Shaw and Gwendolyn Butkus; and senior Julie Hairston were the other CHS runners.
