Columbia HS boys’ lacrosse team defeats West Orange; girls’ lacrosse team loses to Scotch Plains-Fanwood

MAPLEWOOD/SOUTH ORANGE – Orterro Felton had three goals and one assist and Brian Young had three goals to lead the Columbia High School boys’ varsity lacrosse team to an 11-2 win over West Orange on April 7 at Underhill Field.

Will O’Mara had one goal and one assist; Dion Bryan, Nile Garcia and Ben Majtyka each had one goal; and Dean Gillette and Beau Reed each had an assist for the Cougars, who earned their first win of the season and moved to 1-3.

CHS girls’ lacrosse team drops tough game

Alaina Boccino and Jasmine West each scored twice and Lauren Lake and Kate O’Connell each had a goal, but the Columbia High School girls’ varsity lacrosse team lost at Scotch Plains-Fanwood, 9-6, April 9, to fall to 0-2. CHS goalie Dani Brandis made seven saves.
