Columbia HS boys’ soccer team earns 1-1 tie vs. Dickinson

MAPLEWOOD, NJ – The Columbia High School boys’ varsity soccer team tied Dickinson, 1-1, in the final home regular season game on Monday, Oct. 22, at CHS’ Ritzer Field.

Rashid Peart, a junior, scored the tying goal in the second half for the Cougars, who moved to a 7-8-2 overall record. Dickinson scored in the first half. CHS sophomore goalie Sam Maidenberg made four saves.

The Cougars, under head coach Josh Russotto, were scheduled to visit East Orange Campus High School on Oct. 26 in the final regular season game. The Cougars are in 15th place in the state North Jersey Section 2, Group 4 power-point standings. The top 16 teams in the standings earn tournament berths. The tournament begins next week.
