MAPLEWOOD, NJ – The Columbia High School boys and girls fencing teams both advanced to the Elite 8 Round of the State Championship this past week.
On Thursday, February 7, the girls team beat Bergen Tech with a score of 15-12, clinching at 14-10. The boys team followed suit on Friday, February 8, with a win over Watchung Hills and the identical 15-12 score, also clinching at 14-10.
The girls team now faces third seed Morris Hills on Monday, February 11, while the boys will fence against second seed Ridge on Tuesday, February 12.
