Columbia HS field hockey team has good run in state tourney

MAPLEWOOD, NJ – The eighth-seeded Columbia High School field varsity team went 1-1 in the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 state tournament.

Peyton Kemp and Annie Pasternak each had a goal and an assist in the 3-1 win over ninth-seeded Scotch Plains-Fanwood in the first round Oct. 23 at Underhill Field. Cloey Strupp also had a goal.  Columbia fell at top-seeded Morristown, 7-0, in the quarterfinals Oct. 26.
