Columbia HS field hockey team seeks turnaround

MAPLEWOOD, NJ – The Columbia High School varsity field hockey team hopes to bounce back from a slow start to the season.

The Cougars lost to Glen Ridge, 6-1, Monday, Sept. 25, at Lynn V. Profeta Field/Underhill Sports Complex. Sage Savoia-DiGregorio, a senior, scored the goal on an assist from junior Peyton Kemp in the final seconds of the game for the Cougars, who fell to 0-4-2. Senior goalie Sarah Wolfe made 20 saves for CHS.

The Cougars’ ties were against Newark Academy, 1-1, in the season opener Sept. 7 at home and Mount St. Dominic, 1-1, Sept. 13 in Caldwell.
